Biography
Dr. Huang earned her medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and completed her general surgery residency at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). She completed her fellowship as a Colon and Rectal Surgery Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania.
During her residency, Dr. Huang earned a Master of Education in the Health Professions from Johns Hopkins University. She has applied this training to the development of educational curricula and programs, with a focus on enhancing instructional strategies, assessment, and feedback for residents and medical students.
Dr. Huang’s clinical interests span the spectrum of benign and malignant colorectal disease, including colon and rectal cancer, diverticulitis, anorectal disease, pelvic floor disorders, and inflammatory bowel disease. She is interested in using minimally invasive techniques including robotic and laparoscopic surgery to achieve excellent surgical outcomes and enhanced recovery. Her research focuses on surgical education outcomes, quality improvement in colorectal surgery, and enhancing resident autonomy.
